Paris, France – July 1, 2025 — In a historic move aimed at transforming the future of learning, UNESCO has launched the “AI For All: Global Education Transformation Framework”, a worldwide initiative that integrates artificial intelligence, coding, and digital ethics into formal school curriculums.

The initiative focuses on three key pillars:

Curriculum Modernization:
AI, data science, and digital ethics will be incorporated into national education standards for K-12 students.
Teacher Training & Infrastructure Support:
More than 10 million teachers will be trained using open-access AI learning platforms, with special emphasis on underserved regions in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Public-Private Collaboration:
Partnering with Google for Education, Microsoft, and OpenAI, UNESCO aims to make adaptive learning tools available in over 100 languages.

Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, stated:

“AI literacy is not a luxury—it’s a necessity. Our mission is to ensure every child, regardless of geography or income, has the tools to thrive in a digital-first world.”

As part of the framework, UNESCO will also launch a global repository of free AI-powered educational resources, localized for different cultures and languages.

30,000+ schools equipped with AI-ready infrastructure
Universal access to digital learning tools in developing countries
40% gender parity increase in AI/STEM education for girls in low-income regions

Notable Partnerships:
UNICEF, World Bank, Coursera, edX, and the Ministries of Education from over 70 nations have pledged support.

Pilot Programs:
Countries like India, Brazil, Kenya, and Indonesia will kick off the first implementation wave in September 2025, with government-mandated AI curriculum pilots in public schools.

This announcement comes amid growing global concern about AI-induced job displacement and the need for early digital preparedness among future generations.
